Lifting filthy hands   Leave a comment

“Lift up holy hands in prayer, and praise the Lord.”
( Psalm 134:2)
One thing that upsets the Lord is when we go to church or go through life worshiping Him but not taking into account that He requires us, as His children, to be clean or holy before Him. There are many people who mock God by going to church every Sunday and lifting up their hands when the music plays and sing-a-long to worship songs but in reality their hearts are far from God. Whether it’s a worship team or the church.
Blemished sacrifice
This can be classed as a blemished sacrifice. There was a point in time the Old Testament when Gods priests offered animals that were either blind, crippled or diseased to God and they thought this was acceptable before God. But the Lord was not pleased. http://boughtbyhisblood.com/lifting-filthy-hands/“When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice crippled or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the LORD Almighty ”Now implore God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”–says the LORD Almighty. “Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the LORD Almighty, “and I will accept no offering from your hands.”
( Malachi 1:8-10)
God requires not only for us to give our all to Him but holy hands or holiness. It’s unacceptable for us to come before God knowing that our hearts are not pure towards Him. Christ sees everything in our hearts.
“Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing”
( 1 Timothy 2:8)
We need to be sincere in our devotion to Him.
Holy hands.
Holy Hands
When we lift up holy hands to the Lord, we enter into His presence and He draws nearer to us.SOURCE: http://boughtbyhisblood.com/lifting-filthy-hands/
